Turbo Power

This available engine uses advanced technology including twin-scroll turbocharging and Gasoline Direct Injection (GDI) to create spirited acceleration.

Suspension Upgrades

Includes new front and rear suspension designs to provide enhanced steering response, handling capability and stability.

Handling at Speed

Dual lower arm rear suspension enhances braking and stability during high speed maneuvers.

Smart Cruise Control with Stop/Start Capability1

When this available feature is activated and it detects a vehicle in your lane ahead, it automatically slows the Sonata down maintaining a safe distance with the vehicle ahead and will even come to a full stop then start again without driver input.

1 Smart Cruise Control with stop/start capability is not a collision avoidance or warning device. Smart Cruise Control is for highway use only and should not be used in poor weather, heavy or varying traffic, or on winding or slippery roads. Driver remains responsible to slow or stop the vehicle to avoid a collision. See: Smart Cruise Control with stop/start capability.

Forward Collision Warning 1

Using a forward-sensing camera, this available feature looks down the road to warn the driver of a potential collision.

Blind Spot Detection 2 with Rear Cross-traffic Alert 3

This available radar-based system helps detect when a vehicle is in the driver's blind spot and provides both an audible and a visual alert to help keep you aware as you move down the road. When reverse gear is selected, Rear Cross-traffic Alert helps identify and warn the driver of vehicles approaching from the side.

Lane Departure Warning 4

Drift outside your lane without signaling and this available system is designed to inform you with an audible and a visual cue.

Driver's Knee Airbag 5

This standard feature offers added protection for the driver and is just one more innovative element of Sonata’s comprehensive passive and active safety systems.

1 The Forward Collision Warning System is intended to be a supplement to safe driving practices. The system is not designed to detect certain stationary objects such as trees or poles, and may not detect all vehicles under certain conditions. The system does not provide a braking function. The driver is responsible for being attentive and maintaining control of the vehicle, and should not wait for the system's alerts before braking as there may not be sufficient time to brake safely. See: Forward Collision Warning

2 The Blind Spot Detection system assists the driver by warning of other cars in the blind spot region. It senses the rear side territory of the vehicle when it is traveling over 19 mph. There are limitations to the function, range, detection and clarity of the system. It will not detect all vehicles or objects in the blind spot. Its operation depends on the size, distance, angle and relative speed difference between your car and other cars. Blind Spot Detection may not operate if sensors are obscured in any way. Do not rely exclusively on Blind Spot Detection. Blind Spot Detection is a supplemental system and the driver must still be attentive and exercise caution when driving with it. It is important to always signal, look over your shoulder and through your mirrors before changing lanes. It is the driver's responsibility to be aware of the surroundings and ensure it is clear before changing lanes or directions. Blind Spot Detection is only meant to assist the driver in these responsibilities. See: Blind Spot Detection

3 The Rear Cross-traffic Alert system is designed to notify drivers of approaching cross-traffic behind the vehicle. When a vehicle is detected, it provides an audible warning and visual display warning. Rear Cross-traffic Alert is a supplemental system and the driver must still exercise extreme caution when backing up. Drivers must always turn and view oncoming traffic before backing up.

Rear Cross-traffic Alert is active when the vehicle is in reverse and backing at a speed less than 6 mph. It may not detect all vehicles, depending on the size, angle, distance and speed of the other vehicle. In addition, Rear Cross-traffic Alert does not detect stationary objects or slow moving objects near the car, including pedestrians (including children), shopping carts, bicycles or baby strollers. The sensor will not function if it is blocked by foreign material, bicycle racks, luggage carriers, bumper stickers, mud or snow. Please see Owners' Manual for additional information. See: Rear Cross-traffic Alert

4 Lane Departure Warning is designed to notify the driver if the vehicle is leaving the lane of travel by audible and flashing a display signal.

The Lane Departure Warning will not work under all circumstances. It functions when it is able to detect painted lane markings. It cannot function if the lane markings cannot be seen clearly if the lines are faded, or during dusk without headlights on, with snow, rain, sleet, dust, leaves or standing water on road, sudden changes in brightness such as shadows, tunnel exits/entrances, low sunlight angle causing reflections, multiple lane markings or criss-crossed lines, tar crack sealer and cracked or broken road surfaces. It also may not function on very rough roads, when walls, curbs or concrete barriers are close by, or if following another car too closely. Since it “sees” the lane markings using a camera in the upper windshield area, it is imperative this area be clear and free of blockage such as stickers, dirt, snow, tinting material, markings and labels. Avoid putting objects on the dashboard that may reflect light or images onto the system camera area. See: Lane Departure Warning

5 The Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) is not a substitute for seatbelts, which should be worn at all times. See: Driver's Knee Airbag

Integrated Bluetooth®

If you need to take a call while driving, now you can and keep your hands on the wheel. The Sonata’s standard Bluetooth technology with phonebook transfer gives you hands-free access to your phone with convenient voice-recognition control.

Hands-Free Smart Trunk

This available feature makes loading and unloading your Sonata more convenient. The hands-free smart trunk opens automatically when it senses the Proximity Key is behind the vehicle for more than three seconds.

Destination Search powered by Google™

For added information and convenience, users will be able to take advantage of Google's powerful destination search.

Ventilated Front Seats

Heated or cooled, front seats are available depending on the trim level selected—adding comfort whatever the weather. In addition, heated rear seats are also available.

Enhanced Blue Link® 1

Vehicles equipped with navigation will have Destination Search powered by Google and remote access including remote start/stop and remote climate control, plus additional multimedia capabilities including SoundHound and Pandora.

1 Blue Link subscription service agreement required. Features vary by subscription plan. Blue Link service works using CDMA-based cellular networks in the 50 United States. Blue Link service is not available where there is no cellular coverage, particularly in enclosed or remote areas. Service availability may be affected by signal strength, foliage, weather, topographical conditions (mountains) and nearby structures (tall buildings, tunnels) and other factors.
